Summary :
The COVID-19 health crisis was not the first crisis, and will not be the last, whether at a
regional, national or even global level. The Caribbean and La Reunion are hit each year by
Hurricanes/Cyclones of varying intensities (cf. Hurricane Maria and Irma, Cyclone Dumile),
Europe and the Caribbean are affected by Earthquakes, floods, storms, heat waves … and
these risks are not about to diminish with climate change, on the contrary.
Objectives:
The “Expect the unexpected” training aims to develop and equip youth workers with effective
knowledge and tools (like crisis management, first aid techniques, risk assessment, support for young people, etc.) for managing crisis situations during European youth projects related to
mobility.
- Allow youth workers to share good practices, challenges and experiences in managing young
people in crisis - Develop a guide for youth organizations working in mobility giving advice and offering
different methods for monitoring volunteers, administrative points to monitor, stress
management, risk assessment and actions to be taken - Analyze the contexts and risks faced by young people during mobility projects
- Improve the skills of youth actors in the context of their mission of support and
accompaniment of young people, in particular during crisis situations - Develop the knowledge of youth actors on the specificities, administrative in particular of
European youth programs - Create concrete and lasting partnerships allowing the creation of a network of youth
organizations for support and support and the exchange of experiences and good practices,
especially during crisis situations
Participants:
- 18 years old and over
- Resident in Cyprus or Cypriot living abroad
- Experience as Youth Worker and actively working as Youth Worker or in related fields
- fluent in English
