Youth Workers Mobility Project 'SEEDS 4 YOUTH ACTIVISM'

📍 LOCATION: Alqueva, Portel, PORTUGAL
📅 DATES: 24th – 29th October 2024 + 2 travel days

We are looking for 3 YOUTH WORKERS that will travel from Cyprus.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
Contribute to social inclusion and social and democratic participation of young Europeans.
Knowing youth, their needs and challenges, and giving them the right tools and opportunities to make their
voice heard and their actions recognized is central to contemporary society

PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS:

Over 20 years old
Experienced in youth, recognizing problems and challenges, needs and potential, and assuming a critical capacity to analyze gaps in their development;
Experienced in the use of non-formal methods, so that they can understand the methods and dynamics shared by the other youth workers and subsequently apply them to young people;
Experienced in working with young people – It is essential that they understand the existing obstacles and their limitation in the personal and social development of young people;
With knowledge of the theme of the project (social and democratic participation, especially for activism and volunteerism) and social inclusion, and is central to understanding the connection between them and how they can work with young people;
With a basic command of English, considering the need for communication with other youth workers and organizations;
With availability, motivation and predisposition to participate in the project and to transfer the results to the dissemination groups;

All selected participants will be expected to join Online / Preparatory Meetings.

SPECIFIC PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

The need for professional development: the Youth Workers feel the need to strengthen their knowledge and practices, to innovate and to take a differentiating action that is highly adjusted to youth expectations.
The need to strengthen knowledge in the youth sector and, in particular, on the subject of social and democratic participation.
Need for recognition and expansion of network of partnerships.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

🏠 All participants will be accommodated at the ‘Alqueva Hostel’ – All expenses covered by the project.
– Participants will be accommodated from 23/10/24 (after dinner) and depart on 30/10/24 (around 8 AM).

🍴 All meals are covered by the project. ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Coffee Breaks ).

🛫 Travel Grand (maximum) for participants travelling from Cyprus: 530 EURO.
* Participants will be buying their own tickets & will be reimbursed from the hosting organization upon presenting proof such as boarding passes and relevant receipts
